Hey there, friend! Welcome to Adventuring with Ashley!
I’m a 30-something-year-old female traveler whose Places to Visit list keeps growing. I originally grew up in Detroit, MI. Growing up, I traveled every summer domestically with my family, including biannual trips to Toronto, and even visited Jamaica in tenth grade. After graduating with my master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2012, I moved to central CA, where I lived for a year before moving to Atlanta, GA, for four years.
After having my dream job at my dream hospital, a top ten hospital in my field, I decided to become a travel therapist in 2018 to have more flexibility to travel, specifically international travel. Travel therapy took me all over the country from Iowa, CA, MD, WA, and even back to Atlanta, GA.
In 2020 I settled down in Olympia, WA, with my 10-year-old pug, Betsey, and now work as a school OT. Between school holidays and summer vacation, I travel as much as possible, whether it’s a weekend trip here in the PNW or a 10-day vacation to Portugal.
I don’t only travel solo but do it enjoy it and make it a priority to take a solo trip at least once a year. Solo travel pushes you out of your comfort box and allows you to know yourself truly. It’s also nice to do what you want when you want.
My goals as a travel blogger are to inspire you to travel, help women who are scared to solo travel and make it easier when planning a trip.
THANKS!
